The firm name and relationship have changed over the years as new partners were added and others retired or left or changed their status. However, I have remained active in the firm until 2012 when I became “of counsel.” At this time I participate as needed in the practice.

The trials described above are based upon records my assistant had available for the time frame 1998 to 2007. They are not complete. I believe there were other trials which are not part of these records. However, they are accurate in all other respects. In addition to these records there are a few trials I remember because of some incident or result. They include:

1992 - Lirman v. T
5-week employment discrimination/whistle blower trial. Defense verdict. I represented the staff at UCSD.

1996 - Olsen v. S
4-week medical malpractice trial resulting in a very large plaintiffs' verdict. I represented a resident from UCSD who was involved in the care of a 3-year-old patient.

1997 - Al Musawi v. T
Approximately 4-week medical malpractice trial. Defense verdict. I represented an orthopedist who assisted at an operation.

1998 - Dezfuli v. T
8-day medical malpractice trial. Defense verdict. I represented the examining radiologist.

2004 - Atkins v. C
10-day medical malpractice trial resulting in a nonsuit. I represented an examining pediatrician.

There have been many more jury trials starting in 1964. I cannot remember the names or details, however, I do represent that after about 1970 almost all of my jury trials have involved medical malpractice.

Bench Trials

The only bench trial I clearly remember was tried around November, 1971 before Judge Parks Stillwell. I cannot recall the plaintiff's name. I represented The Regents. It was a medical malpractice case which lasted about 3 weeks. I represented an E.D. doctor and a neurology resident. The case ended in a defense verdict.
